Bachelor Pad Bachelor Pad
It was Spring of 1962. Route 66 was on the TV. Rock-and-roll was on the way in. Hi-Fi stereo systems were strategically placed in the middle of snazzy dens and living rooms. Bongos and hammond organs were "in." This is the era of the bachelor pad.

This CD contains steamy vintage music for the ultimate bachelor pad experience. This music is cool, swingin', jazzy, sexy-- the perfect musical nightcap for private dicks and dames: "music noire," Sam Spade's soundtrack, gumshoe melodies.

As with some of the other titles, we have included a couple of cocktail recipes to help you get the party started. (Until you can buy your own copy of Old Mr. Boston, you'll just have to impress your friends with the mixtures outlined in this series of CD's)

All tracks are digitally remastered from the original master tapes. First time on CD for most of these tracks. Included are singles, album tracks from classic bachelor pad LPs, plus a newly created Sam Butera medley.

This CD includes a cut from the Wild About Basie album. "Topsy" found it's way to this CD produced in 1996. It was part of a series of music released by Capitol Records called "Ultra-Lounge" I've been told it's available at Amazon.com.

Organs In Orbit Organs in Orbit
Here's another CD that Capitol released around the same time as Bachelor Pad. Imagine, if you will, the smooth sound of Hammond organs racing through the arrangements of some of the most memorable lounge tunes of all-time: Girl From Impanema, The Third Man Theme, Patricia.

These artists are all masters of their organs. They are also some of the most well-know musicians of their day. The biggies are cats like Joe Bucci, Martin Denny, Billy May, Jackie Davis, Walter Wanderley, and Ernie Freeman. Rounding out the rest of the compilation are players and lounge men so cool that youšll forget you never heard of them: Shay Torrent, The Forbidden Five, Milt Buckner.

A space-age bachelor pad wouldn't be complete without a few organs in orbit. Every track digitally remastered to take advantage of your hi-tech hi-fi. Graphics cooler than ever, in Ultra-Lounge style. This CD features "Lil Darlin", from the Wild About Basie album. I beleive this one is also available at Amazon.com

Spur Of The Moment Spur of the Moment...
My dad's most recent recording, features him on Accordion. The cover art was also done by him.

Joe Bucci has long been recognized as one of the most outstanding jazz organists for the past several decades. It was his association with Capitol Records that gave him national notoriety. Although people know him for his organ playing, his original instrument was accordion. This recording shows his taste and facility on this, his first love. Unlike some of his contemporaries, Joe does not resort to any electrical gimmicks or devices; his playing is accoustic.

On the night this recording was made, Joe Bucci was called to put a jazz trio together. He was fortunate to find two outstanding and respected musicians, Joe Cohn on guitar and trumpet, and Volker Narhmann on doublebass. Although the group had never played together before, a great spirit of camaraderie developed amoung them. The music was completely spontaneous since no written arrangements were used. A nearby patron recorded Bucci's group with intentions of adding it to his private collection. Unfortunately, one of the channels was badly distorted, requiring some very special editing. The result is this recording, which displays the remarkable interplay among these three talented musicians. I am most happy to have played a part in retrieving this extraordinary music.
